Hello,

Let me introduce myself, I'm Kirsty, the artist, the seller, the packer, the poster, the hands and mind behind all the creations that make me a living out of what I love doing most, Art. I am self taught, a Mum of three, two girls and a boy, living in the south of Sydney, and I work out of a home based studio I've waited forever to have, beats working off my kitchen bench and dining room table.......although my house throws good light so I still venture out into the open spaces occasionally to chase it and be a smidge social with my family.

My Story:

I have been making art kinda always, and filling my life in creative ways since I was a little girl. What started out as sketches of every belonging I owned and portraits of family members as a 6 year old moved into fashion illustration portraits studying fashion design and 3 Unit art in my final years of high school.

I fell deeply in love with the thought of climbing ladders for a living and becoming a sign writer amongst those earlier years at high school somewhere, but this dream was squashed as the hand painting side to the trade fizzled out.

I went on to marry my high school sweetheart, have my children, create art in secret, and fell out of employment multiple times due to some life altering stresses, which brought me back to my art practice as a form of therapy in my life. I then fell back into selling my creations for enough money to buy the occasional coffee, and maybe shout one here or there too.

I draw, I paint, I sew, I cook, I take many a photo, just ask the camera roll on my phone which is usually hovering at an anxiety causing level, my point is I'm creative in all areas of my life.  Sometimes my art sells pretty quickly through social media so If you’re interested, I would recommend following along on Facebook + Instagram to see them as they drop as they may never make it to my website space. I like to think when I'm organised at some point the plan is to set up an email list where they will go out to the subscribers that way, like I said when I'm organised that will happen, so maybe 2050 hehe, so if this is something that could interest you sign up to the email list via the link at the bottom of this page. Prints can be found here as I release them along the way.

I am obsessed with colour but also love the classic fine lines of my black + white ink drawings. I work with many mediums including but not limited to inks, graphite, colour pencils, pastels, acrylic paints, oils, clay, and watercolours.

Our beautiful Australian flora + fauna and our surrounding landscapes + seascapes have been the backbone of most of my work, but I also like to tackle the challenges of portraiture, and my interpretation of realism.

It brings me nothing but pure happiness creating art and selling directly to the people it connects with. I’m developing my skills and processes as I go always, and lets face it art can get pretty messy at times, but sometimes I get really lucky with my mess and people love it and want to hang it in their home or give to someone special as a gift, and that makes me really happy.

Thanks for being a supporter, and if you’re not, thanks for being here and browsing anyway, who knows I may just sway you to stay.
